It’s time for “TueWednesday’s” Talkabout! Have you ever had one of those days when you just “Can’t Get To It” ? Well, that’s my day earlier today, or by the time you get this, yesterday! I’m Sheanna, and I think my motto should be Makes Great Lists But Doesn’t Do Them. (and not because I don’t want to!).
She’s right (Barb here) – I witnessed her Oh-So-Crazy day. Sheanna does make great lists, but I’m betting she didn’t do anything on it today (until now, when we are finally getting to this Talkabout!). I’m not so much of a list maker – it just makes me more frustrated when I don’t get anything on the list done, so instead I’m just happy with the little I do finish!
So, what about you? Are you a List Maker or a Fly by the Seat of My Pants kind of person? I want to know!
Ok, so it’s time to announce our winner from last week’s question, what is your favorite type of fabric. We had a lot more entries this week (who doesn’t want a shopping spree of any sort?), which we were so happy to see. Thank you to all who commented!
Yep, this week the winner is a gal with tastes after my own heart .. batiks. Joan H is the winner of the $15 Gift Certificate- congratulations Joan! I don’t want to tell you how to spend it, but I have to say, one of my favorite things on the site right now is the Christmas Snuggler .. OK, it’s not Batiks, but it is Minky!!
It’s been so UNBELIEVABLY cold here in Colorado the past several days, that I think I might even make a Minky kit! I don’t know if you’ve ever made a Minky quilt, but it can be quite messy. But, I do have a favorite Minky Tips and Trick I learned last year .. I just get a lint roller and keep it next to me .. then I de-Minky me, the board and the floor throughout the project. Keeps me a bit more sane!
We want to thank you for the Customer Creations that keep rolling in. Today we are featuring a Twin sized quilt by Linda J — what a fun project she did here! Linda says that the quilt is a gift for an up coming wedding and the couple are cat lovers.
It’s hard to see in the image, but to give you an idea, the purple block is a “Bunch of Cats” rather than a Bunch of Grapes! Thank you for your entry, Linda!
For the Creative Team feature, we have a beautiful quilt that I made for my sister. This is a Mother’s Day Quilt, and I was just so happy with it. I used Lakehouse fabrics and then did a lightly scalloped inner border to make this ideal lap size quilt.
It seems a bit early, but I may need to make this for my special Auntie Joan. I think I should put it on my list … or Barb, will you make it for me? Ha. I didn’t think so (you should see the look she gave me!)…
OK, so you may be wondering why Sheanna didn’t get much done yesterday (or maybe you aren’t). But, what kept her from getting anything on that list done was that we received lots of new fabrics and patterns, and Teresa had 2 sales reps come by (and we always have to poke our noses in so we can oh and ah!), and we planned out 2 more Block of the Months for 2014!
We aren’t allowed to reveal the new BOMs at the moment … but OH MY GOSH! They both use Moda fabrics, and I can’t wait until you get to see them. But, I will spill the beans on one of them …let me just say “Kansas Troubles” and “Christmas” in the same sentence.
But, I did add something I love .. more Simple Gatherings Kits ! This kit is fun because it combines wool and cotton – and I do love those combos!
And Sheanna – don’t you get us in hot water spilling the beans! OK, a bit of hot anything sounds nice around here with how cold it’s been.
You should see our UPS guy. Talk about hot. OH, and the Fed Ex guy is ‘fly’ too. Of course, my hubby’s not so bad, either.
Sheanna! Thank fabric. Geez. OK, we are going to call this a wrap, but we want to know… Are you a List Maker or a Fly by the Seat of your Pants kind of person? Let us know .. we have a fun gift for you that we’ll announce next week!
Thanks for visiting .. And be Sure to Follow Our Blog so you Don’t Miss a Thing!
Def a list maker…I knew I was a little obsessed when I actually made a list of my lists. Help was sought (JK) and am now down to an ongoing project list and and everyday to do list.
There is nothing more satisfying than crossing off items when they are completed…and unsatisfying when I have eorked hard all day to find it was never put on there…😉
Not only do I make lists…I have been known to have lists of lists! Honest!!
Enjoying the blog 🙂
I make lists of things I want to sew, quilts I want to make…..yesterday was one of those days that everything I did took way longer to do than I thought it would. sew of course the list did NOT get completed. just adds more to today’s list. 🙂
List maker, but sometimes I forget where my list is.
I make lists so I know what and where I saw what I want to sew or quilt! have lost many a list though only to find them after I have used the fabric for something else! 🙂
Also my favorite thing about the holidays is decorating the house with help from Grandkids that can make it to help me.
i make a list, lose it, so then fly by the seat of my pants!!
One of my favorite things about the holidays is looking at the Christmas light displays.
i’m a list maker … at my age, lists are a given.
Another favorite thing about the holidays is going Christmas caroling.
I generally have to make a list, just so I can empty out my brain and not have little bits of do this, do that floating around to short me out.
I definitely make lists…but sometimes forget to read them!!
Another favorite thing about the holidays is getting together with family.
I make great lists, I just need to write them down so I can mark them off. I like the lint roller idea to de-minky us sewists. Merry Christmas from Oklahoma. crystalbluern at onlineok dot com
